East Midlands Recruitment Fair 2017

East Midlands Airport will once again be hosting our ‘Big Job Fair’ on Saturday 28th January, from 10am until 2pm.  The Job Fair will take place in the Check-in Hall at our Airport Passenger Terminal Building.

With approximately 7,000 staff on site across 80 businesses, East Midlands Airport is a great place to expand your skills and develop - either with us or with one of our partner businesses.

More than 350 jobs are up for grabs with a number of different companies based at the airport.  The vacant positions will be focussed around passenger services, concentrated on serving passengers flying in and out of East Midlands Airport, including airlines, check-in agents, shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and the airport itself.  Representatives from the airport, as well airport partner companies will be at the fair to talk to job-seekers about the various opportunities on offer.

Many roles on offer – some of which are seasonal - include customer facing roles with the airport itself within passenger services, security, car parking and our Escape Lounge. Jet2.com will be recruiting check-in agents, and both Swissport and Menzies will be looking for ground handling staff including check-in and baggage handling.  There will also be opportunities to work in retail as well as within food and beverage.

Two of our big international Cargo partners – UPS and DHL - will also be in attendance at the job fair, recruiting for cargo handling roles for their growing businesses.

Entry to the job fair is free and there is also free car parking available for job-seekers in our Long Stay 4 car park, with free courtesy buses to and from the Passenger Terminal.

Skylink operators (Trent Barton and Kinchbus) will be at the job fair to talk about getting to and from work as cheaply as possible with their ‘Super Commuter’ regular user ticket offer.

The airport has its own Airport Academy, a dedicated employment and education facility for adults, which works with partners, Stephenson College and Job Centre Plus, and tutors from the college will be on hand to talk about the academy and how it could benefit local people who are currently unemployed.  The Academy aims to help unemployed people in the East Midlands region develop their workplace skills and give them the opportunity to apply for the vacancies on site at the airport.

Since its opening in the summer of 2013, the academy has seen hundreds of local people undergo training and securing employment.
