EMA crowned this years 'Star Regional Airport'
East Midlands Airport is celebrating after being awarded the prestigious title of ‘Star Regional Airport’ for the third year in a row at the Travel Bulletin 2009 Star Awards.
East Midlands Airport was crowned ahead of its sister airport Bournemouth. Other airports short listed in the regional airport category were BAA Stansted and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
The airport was commended for its innovative systems and approach to supporting the travel trade, commenting specifically on work undertaken with tour operators, agent incentives and praising initiatives such as ‘On your Soapbox’ which offers agents the chance to speak out on all types of travel issues.
As well as highlighting the successes of the airport over the past year in a very tough marketplace, the award clearly demonstrates the confidence, trust and respect our travel partners place in the airport.
We would also like to take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to each and everyone of you who voted for the airport, making this achievement a reality for three consecutive years.
