East Midlands Airport (EMA) has won Best UK Regional Airport at the prestigious Travel Bulletin 2007 Star Awards.
Airports including Birmingham and Manchester were also nominated in the category.
The Travel Bulletin Star Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the travel industry's calendar, designed to celebrate the achievements of the travel trade. Winners are voted for by the UK travel industry professionals and the award for ‘Best UKRegional Airport’ was presented to representatives of EMA who attended the award ceremony in London on the 8th October.
Penny Coates, Managing Director, East Midlands Airport, said, “This news is very pleasing for the whole team at EMA who work incredibly hard to ensure the very best levels of customer service. The award shows the confidence, trust and respect our colleagues in the travel industry have for the Airport and we are delighted that this has been recognised in a very competitive marketplace.”
Earlier this year the Airport was awarded ‘Best Regional UK Airport’ at the 2007 Travel Weekly Globe Awards and in 2006 won the “Best Regional Airport (UK)” at the annual ‘Selling Long Haul and Short Breaks and Holidays Travel Awards’. These awards are in addition to the accolade of “Best UK Airport” at the British Travel Awards 2005 in London.
