Community

Welcome to the local community section of the East Midlands Airport website. Here you will find up to date information about how to get involved with the airport and ways in which we can support you.

At East Midlands Airport, we have a long-term commitment to make a positive difference to the quality of life in our local community. As well as being a good neighbour, we believe that supporting local and regional groups and charities is important to our long-term success.

As part of our Master Plan, we made a promise to report honestly and openly about the progress we make each year – and to address the areas where we could improve.

Meet the team

Community Outreach events are part of the airport's commitment to engage with the local community. They allow local residents to drop in and meet airport representatives and ask any questions or voice any concerns.

Whether you want to know more about the airport's work on reducing noise impact, which bus routes serve the airport or how to apply to the Community Fund, the Sustainability team will be on hand to help. If you wish to bring along your children, there will also be some fun activities for them..

The next Outreach events are taking place on the following dates:

  • East Leake Village Hall, 2:30pm - 6:30pm on Tuesday 27th July 2010
  • Castle Donington Community College, Thursday 19th August 2010
  • Kegworth Parish Council Rooms, Thursday 16th September 2010
  • Melbourne, Bill Shone Leisure Centre, Thursday 14th October 2010

All events will take place between 3pm and 7pm, unless stated otherwise.

We know that not everyone who wants to speak to us will be able to attend one of these events. As a result of this, we have added additional Outreach dates to the diary throughout the year. Members of the team will be on hand between 15:00 and 18:00 on the first Wednesday of every month at the Aerozone, EMA’s education centre, to answer any questions that you may have. Parking is available free of charge in the short stay car park.
