Bicycle User Group (BUG)
The East Midlands Airport Bicycle User Group (BUG) is a forum for colleagues who cycle or who would like to cycle to work. The forum works together to improve conditions for cyclists by making suggestions to make the airport site more cycle-friendly. The forum is also involved in the promotion of campaigns such as Bike Week and has a strong social dimension by organising leisure rides after work and sponsored charity bike rides.
The EMA BUG is open to all, it’s not just for hardened lycra-clad enthusiasts who cycle to work every day, come rain or shine. It is for ‘bike users’ as opposed to ‘cyclists’ and the difference is an important one. A bike user may pedal to work just a handful of times a year. Nevertheless, their views and ideas are as valid as those of a five days a week cyclist.
If you would like to know more about the BUG and how you can get involved, please contact Kelly McHugh, Travel Plan Marketing Manager on 01332 852967 or email kelly.mchugh@eastmidlandsairport.com
