Look To The Sky For Airport Calendar Competition
The search is on to find 12 images to create East Midlands Airport 2008 calendar. The Airport is seeking budding artists to produce an image along this year’s theme of ‘The Sky’. The competition is open to anyone living in the East Midlands.
This year’s theme offers a real opportunity for entrants to get creative. The image could be a bright blue sky experienced on a lovely sunny beach, a stormy day or beautiful cloud formations. When creating the image, entrants should also consider what can be seen in the sky, from planes and hot air balloons to birds and insects. Images can be submitted in any format (photography, drawings etc).
There are some fantastic prizes for the finalists with winners set to receive £250 as well as £100 being donated to their preferred charity. The competition will be judged independently by Councillor Marie Males, Chair of the Airport’s Community Fund.
The calendar will be used as the Airport’s corporate Christmas card and will be distributed all over the world to the Airport’s business partners and colleagues.
Penny Coates, Managing Director of East Midlands Airport said
“Our annual competition is another example of how we actively look to engage with our communities. This year we are producing a calendar so the lucky recipients can enjoy the images throughout 2008. I’m looking forward to seeing the entries.”
