Nottingham Skylink changes from 25/03/12

From Sunday 25th March 2012, the Nottingham Skylink will operate as a commercial service from Friar Lane and Broad Marsh to East Midlands Airport via Long Eaton, and will be operated by Trent Barton.

The new commercial service will remain largely unchanged and will continue to operate 24-hours a day, half hourly from 4am to midnight and hourly through the night, 7 days a week, and will take 55 minutes to reach the Airport. The new route will avoid the A453, which is likely to be adversely affected by congestion for around three years during the much anticipated widening scheme, which means that by avoiding this route the service is likely to be far more reliable over the coming years for the passengers it serves.

The new Nottingham Skylink route, which will take effect from 25th March 2012, will operate from Friar Lane and will then serve Broadmarsh, Queens Medical Centre, University Dunkirk South Entrance, Beeston Queens Road, Beeston Station Road, Chilwell Retail Park, Long Eaton Green, Long Eaton Train Station, Castle Donington Bus Station, East Midlands Airport DHL, East Midlands Airport Terminal, and Pegasus Business Park.

From Friday, 23rd March 2012, Premiere Travel will start another new service between Nottingham and the Airport, known as the Red Flyer. This will also operate 24-hours a day on an hourly basis and will take around 40 minutes to reach the airport, operating from Broadmarsh Bus Station along the A453 via Kegworth to the Airport.
