Skylink is highly commended at National Transport Awards
East Midlands Airport bus network Skylink is celebrating after being Highly Commended, at the 10th annual National Transport Awards, in the Travel Information and Marketing category.
The prestigious awards recognise and reward businesses that demonstrate excellence, innovation and progress for transport initiatives, across the UK and Ireland. The judges in particular, commended the network for impressive growth in passengers using Skylink from 700,000 in 2006 to 1.3 million passengers in 2009 and also recognised the Club Skylink membership scheme for encouraging passengers to use the bus service with regular rewards and incentives.
Kelly McHugh, Skylink Marketing Manager celebrated the news announcing, “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised for our marketing efforts and in particular Club Skylink, our dedicated membership scheme for Skylink passengers. The scheme rewards members with special offers, as well as ensuring our members are kept updated on network developments.”
Held on 15th July in Manchester, and attended by Transport Secretary, Philip Hammond, the awards showcased new initiatives, rewarding both public and private bodies, which have made a difference to transport in the past year.
