Skylink Success at UK Bus Awards
East Midlands Airport bus network Skylink is celebrating after being shortlisted for a UK Bus Award. The UK Bus Awards scheme is an annual recognition and rewarding of success and good practice in the bus industry. Skylink has been shortlisted in the 'Bus Marketing Campaign of the Year' category for its Club Skylink membership scheme. The network has also been recognised for impressive growth in passengers using Skylink from 700,000 in 2006 to 1.3 million passengers in 2008.
A record breaking number of entries have been received for the 2009 UK Bus Awards giving the specialist judges a difficult task to create the shortlist of around 80 nominees across 20 Award categories.
Kelly McHugh, Skylink Marketing Manager celebrated the news announcing, "We are absolutely delighted to have been short listed for our marketing efforts at this prestigious industry awards and look forward to the ceremony in November."
John Owen, UK Bus Awards Chairman stated that. "We've had a fantastic response this year with a record 210 entries. We're hugely impressed by the commitment to quality and innovation shown by the industry, especially in the current economic climate."
The winners will be announced at the 2009 Awards Ceremony, taking place at the London Hilton Hotel on 12 November 2009.
