Sport in the Community
Our sports programmes aim to develop links with sports organisations and individuals on a local, regional and national level. We are keen to develop initiatives that benefit grass-roots, amateur and semi-professional level across a wide variety of activities.
Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Games
For the third year running, we are proud to be associated with the Youth Games in both Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire as headline sponsor.
The events are open to all youngsters in each county and offer the chance to take part in a truly 'Olympic' style event. Each district is represented in a range of sports, including athletics, gymnastics, hockey, orienteering and boccia.
English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS)
East Midlands Goalball is part of EFDS East Midlands region and was established to support the development of Boccia in the region. It works to empower disabled people to stay involved in sport for life as an athlete, coach, development worker or volunteer.
This year we are proud to be working with EFDS East Midlands to create Goalball Clubs in each of our local counties (Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire), as a catalyst for the wider development of the sport.
