Sport in the Community
Our sports programmes aim to develop links with sports organisations and individuals on a local, regional and national level. We are keen to develop initiatives that benefit grass-roots, amateur and semi-professional level across a wide variety of activities.
Nottinghamshire Youth Games
Once again, East Midlands Airport has been proud to support the Nottinghamshire Youth Games as headline sponsor. The games have continued to be a huge success, engaging young people from across the county to take part in a huge range of sports. This ‘Olympics’ style event includes sports such as athletics, gymnastics, netball through to the fully inclusive boccia.
Leicester-shire and Rutland Youth Games
The Leicester-shire and Rutland Youth Games have moved from strength to strength and the airport is proud to continue its’ headline sponsorship of this event. Similarly to its Nottinghamshire equivalent, the Games encompass a wide variety of sporting events for young people of all abilities, throughout the county.
Derbyshire Schools’ Athletics Championships
The East Midlands Airport Derbyshire Schools’ Athletics Championships is in its first year and brimming with success. The Track and Field Championships and Miniathlon have seen a vast age range of Derbyshire youngsters compete against one another in a wide range of events.
