What A Corker! - Ryanair Announces Irish Route
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline has today announced a new destination from East Midlands Airport for the winter season. The Cork route will operate four times a week direct from EMA, moving to a daily service in February.
Starting on 13th December, the announcement of Cork from East Midlands Airport follows after the Irish based airline announced new routes to Belfast, Poznan and Tenerife as well as reopening their ski routes to Grenoble and Salzburg earlier this month.
Ryanair now operates 35 routes from East Midlands and will carry over 1.8m passengers in the coming year supporting 1,800 jobs in the East Midlands.
Cork is Ireland's third city and is a great spot for a city break with good shopping and a buzzing nightlife. Cork is also the best spring board to discover West (county) Cork which is among the most scenic areas of Ireland. County Cork has something for everyone; spa breaks, golf, fishing and some of the best seafood restaurants in Ireland.
Commenting on the new route, Penny Coates, Managing Director East Midlands Airport said
“I am delighted that Ryanair are offering our customers even greater choice from their local Airport. Cork is a fabulous city to visit and I am sure this new destination will continue to attract inbound tourism to the region.”
