1. Car Share Coffee Mornings / Afternoon Tea

You will receive advice about how to find a car share partner and will even have the opportunity to register and find a car share match.
There are many reasons why you should consider car sharing and you don’t need to do it everyday. As well as saving money, reducing wear and tear on your car, freeing up parking spaces and cutting congestion, you may even forge some new friendships along the way.
The airport has a dedicated website where potential car sharers add details of their journey and whether they are offering or seeking a lift. The database then searches for appropriate matches, instantly finding potential drivers and passengers.
Car sharing to East Midlands Airport makes real sense:
· It’s free to use – simply share travel costs saving you money
· It reduces congestion and pollution on our region’s roads
· It cuts your carbon emissions every time you leave the car at home
· If everyone just car shared once a week, it would generate a 20% reduction in the number of cars on the roads, the majority of which would be at peak travel times
FACTS:
· Each car sharing vehicle replaces four to eight private cars
· Car sharing can lead to a 55% reduction of the individual transport related energy consumption
· An efficient car sharing system can lead to a reduction in annual carbon dioxide of about 800 tonnes
2. Green fingers
Get involved in a hands-on planting session and help to improve the area around Building 34 over the lunchtime period.
There will be a wide range of plants and shrubs and we need your help to get them planted, whatever the weather.
Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes and your wellies, along with a fork and/or spade.
