East Midlands Airport Launches New Escape Lounge
East Midlands Airport has today launched its new premium lounge, marking the latest phase in its £12 million terminal redevelopment programme.
The opening of the brand new Escape Lounge comes as a bumper 3.4 million passengers are set to jet off from East Midlands Airport over the summer season.
The new Escape Lounge will provide improved and increased space for customers looking for a quieter area in the airport terminal before they fly.
Originally launched at East Midland’s sister airport, Manchester – and soon to be followed by London Stansted, another MAG airport – the Escape Lounge at East Midlands Airport will provide our customers with a selection of complimentary food and drink, free Wi-Fi and a range of newspapers and magazines.
The lounge will be open 0400 - 2000 daily and exciting new features include The Deli, with complimentary and paid-for food and beverage choices. Other facilities include; a quiet area, comfortable seating, an eating area and window booths.
Andy Cliffe, Managing Director East Midlands Airport said: “Whether our customers are flying on holiday or for business, everyone is welcome to use the new Escape Lounge. We wanted to provide a premium space away from the main terminal, which allows passengers to relax and unwind before the flight, giving them the best start possible to their trip.
“It’s a great improvement on our previous offering, having almost quadrupled in size and demonstrating another major milestone in our £12 million terminal redevelopment.
“As we progress through the redevelopment, we hope that our customers are now starting to see the changes and can enjoy a simpler and more efficient journey, as well as an improved food and retail offer, as a result.”
Entry to the new Escape Lounge is £18.99 per adult (12 years and over) and £12.50 per child when pre-booked online and £22.50 per adult and £15.00 per child on the door, subject to availability.
**A new larger Dixons Travel store also opened last week at East Midlands. This follows the opening of a new airside Superdrug store, further boosting the airport’s retail offer.
