Must see:
As the birthplace of architectural genius Antonio Gaudi (the creative force behind Barcelona’s cathedral), Reus is the place to pay homage. No trip would be complete without a visit to the Gaudi Centre in the Placa Mercadal.
Must eat at:
For traditional Catalan cuisine with a local twist, stop off at Casa Llesques for local specialities including Cod in Romesco sauce.
Must be there for:
As befits the birthplace of Gaudi, every day is Modernist Day in Reus. The Modernist Trail is a daily (and highly cultured) tour that takes in some of the town’s most notable modern buildings – with museum entry included in the price.
Well-travelled tips:
- Just 10km from Reus airport, the small but perfectly formed five star Hotel Mas Passamaner in La Selva del Camp is the place to de-stress – and if you’re flying your own helicopter, you can even pop it down on the hotel’s own landing pad...
Visa:
British citizens do not need a visa to visit Spain.
