Who should attend?

This training course is designed for Local Authority / Overseas Fire Officers who want to gain experience in Aviation Incident Command, learn how Aircraft Emergencies are dealt with, an insight to Aircraft Construction, Airfield layout, Emergency Planning, Military Aircraft and Fire Fight on our 747 Training rig.


Personnel nominated to attend this course shall:

Be medically fit in accordance with the requirements from CAP 168 chapter 8 or company policy

Course Aim

To ensure should the need ever arise that you are involved in an Aircraft Incident as an Officer in Charge you will be trained to a high level to help with decisions you make.

Course Outline

The course is designed for you the customer to include Classroom, Fire Ground & visits off site to give a full timetable in which to fulfil our objectives to you.

All Theory content will be delivered in the new Learning & Development Department in Olympic House

  • MA RFFS Incident Command theoretical training
  • Practical Incident Command Tactic & Techniques sessions on Big Rig
    Modules including
  • 1000 meter off Airfield
  • PEMS (Passenger Evacuation Management System)
  • Preservation of Evidence
  • MMMFs (Man made mineral Fibres)
  • Foams
  • Latest Aircraft presentations – A380, B787
  • Ballistic Parachutes
  • Aircraft Construction
  • Military Aircraft constructions / Weapons
    Guest speakers including:
  • Emergency Planning Manager
  • Airfield Operations Manager
  • Greater Manchester Police
  • North West Ambulance Service
    Off site visits including
  • Major Airline Hangers to see how Aircraft are constructed
  • Military Aircraft site
    On site visits
  • Fuelling installations
  • Apron and manoeuvring area - runways and taxi ways
  • Visit Concorde in our very own Concorde hanger (For a touch of nostalgia)

For clients who need to stay local hotel accommodation can be arranged
