East Midlands Airport Short Stay Car Park is located directly in front of the terminal building and
can be pre-booked in advance, enabling you to make a saving over the turn up price. Turn up prices can be found here.
Our Short Stay Car Park is ideal for those parking for short durations including picking up and dropping off passengers or simply for those who want to park closer to the terminal.
Dropping off passengers
Customers dropping off passengers can choose from:
- Rapid Drop Off – 10 minutes maximum, £1 (please be aware that cars must not be left unattended when using the Rapid Drop Off facility)
- Short Stay Car Park – Up to 30 minutes £2
- 60 minutes FREE parking in Shuttle Plus Car Park and free transfer to the terminal
Picking up passengers
Customers picking up passengers can choose from:
- Short Stay Car Park – Up to 30 minutes £2
- 60 minutes FREE parking in Shuttle Plus Car Park and free transfer to the terminal.
Parking or Stopping in Unauthorised areas
Customers should note that the practice of drivers picking up or setting down passengers in unauthorised areas ( which poses a risk both to the safety of passengers and that of other road users, as well as causing congestion and disruption to traffic) is not allowed. The Airport is routinely patrolled by the use of mobile CCTV cameras and clear signage has been installed to warn drivers accordingly and offenders will be required to pay an enforcement charge which will be issued retrospectively.
A £100 enforcement charge is payable by drivers who stop their vehicles to drop off or pick up passengers in unauthorised parking areas or stopping on the internal roads. This charge is reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days.

Effective from 4th January 2011 and reflect VAT at 20%.
Where to Pay
Rapid Drop Off - On approach to the Short Stay Car Park, follow the right hand lane, signed Rapid Drop Off. You will be asked to pay the £1 charge on departure at the exit barrier. Please use exact money as change will not be given; alternatively you can use a credit/debit card.
Short Stay / picking up and dropping off passengers – You can make a payment at one of the pay stations either within the Arrivals Hall (opposite the Information Desk), in front of the Car Park Enquiries/Taxi Office or at the pay stations by each exit before proceeding to the exit barrier to insert your validated ticket. The machines accept all major credit and debit cards as well as cash. Receipts are available on request.
As an alternative, on departure proceed straight to the exit barrier, insert your car park ticket followed by your credit or debit card. Your card will be debited with the correct amount and returned to you with a receipt. Please note that if you choose to pay by credit card or prepaid card, you will be charged a £1.50 card fee. We do not charge a fee for debit cards.

Directions
On arrival at the airport please follow signs for the Short Stay Car Park. Please take the left or middle barriered lane for entry into the Short Stay Car Park, or right lane for the Rapid Drop Off zone.
Transfer Frequency
Short Stay Car Park – located directly in front of the terminal building. No transfer buses.
Shuttle Plus Car Park is just a six minute bus transfer away from the terminal, and operates every fifteen minutes, 24 hours a day, all year round.
Exit Procedure
If you have pre-booked please follow instructions on your confirmation email.
For Rapid Drop Off zone, please pay the £1 charge on departure at the exit barriers.
For the Short Stay Car Park, you can make a payment at one of the pay stations either within the Arrivals Hall (opposite the Information Desk), in front of the Car Park Enquiries/Taxi Office, or at the pay stations by the exits then return to your car, proceed to the exit barrier and insert your validated ticket.
OR
Proceed to the exit barrier, insert your entry ticket followed by your credit or debit card. Your card will be debited with the correct amount and a receipt issued.

Height Restriction
3 metres maximum – height restrictor in place
Parking for Blue Badge Holders
Dedicated parking spaces are available within the Short Stay Car Park to Blue Badge holders for any duration of stay. To ensure you are charged the appropriate rate for your stay, please take your car park ticket to the Car Park Enquiries Office opposite the Arrivals Hall to pay together with your Blue Badge.
Blue Badge holders are entitled to use the Short Stay Car Park for up to 30 minutes free. The ticket obtained on entry, together with the Blue Badge must be presented at the Car Park Enquiries Office located opposite the Arrivals Hall in order for the ticket to be validated for the free exit. Any time spent in the Short Stay Car Park after the first 30 minutes is chargeable as per the tariffs displayed on entry. The free period does not apply to the Rapid Drop Off zone.
Should Blue Badge holders wish to use the up to 60 minutes free parking within Shuttle Plus Car Park, the shuttle buses are all DDA compliant.
