The Aerozone is East Midlands Airport’s exclusive education centre. There are a huge range of exciting opportunities for school and community groups of all sizes and ages. The Aerozone offers a meeting room and a fully equipped, interactive education facility. We have something for everyone from primary schools through to colleges and community groups.
Supporting Education
The Aerozone can be used for a diverse range of activities and can be adapted to suit your teaching needs, and what’s more, it is completely free of charge. From primary school through to college classes, there are opportunities for you to immerse yourself in the airport experience and find out what happens behind the scenes. The Aerozone offers ready-built and bespoke educational packages, covering Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), Geography, Travel and Tourism, Business Studies, Environment and more. Alternatively we can work with you to create a visit that suits your needs and requirements.
East Minilands
A fun and interactive role play space within the Aerozone incorporating the key areas of the passenger journey used by all ages for role play or Travel and Tourism assessment.
Community Groups
The Aerozone is a great venue to hold a meeting, discussion group or a get together away from your normal surroundings. All groups are welcome, and a small room hire fee is charged.
School Holiday Activities
There are lots of fun activities on at the Aerozone throughout the Easter and Summer holidays. Activity calendars will be posted on the right hand side of this page as soon as they are available.
Keeping schools up to date
Airport News is a news sheet produced by the Community Relations team which has been designed to keep schools and colleges in the region informed about education activities that take place at East Midlands Airport and in the Aerozone.
Vouchers for Schools
Each year the Community Relations team organise the collection of schools vouchers, given out at local supermarkets. Boxes are placed around the airport site for colleagues to place their unwanted vouchers into. These vouchers are then collected and handed over to local Primary Schools.
