Short Stay


Official short stay on-site airport parking from East Midlands Airport is cost effective and easy to reach. Our Short Stay Car Park is directly opposite the terminal.

Customers can now drop off and pick up passengers with greater ease with our new and improved Short Stay Car Parking facilities. 

Customers dropping off passengers can now choose from:

  • Rapid Drop Off zone - 10 minutes, for just £1
  • Short Stay Car Park – 30 minutes, for just £2
  • Alternatively, 60 minutes free parking in Car Park 6 and free car park transfer to the terminal.
    (Please be aware that cars must not be left unattended when using the Rapid Drop Off zone facility.)

Customers picking up passengers can now choose from:

  • Short Stay Car Park – 30 minutes, for £2
  • Alternatively, 60 minutes free parking in Car Park 6 and free car park transfer to the terminal.

Passengers are advised that there will no longer be a 10 minute free option in the Short Stay Car Park from the 8th July 2010.

Effective from 8th July 2010 and reflect VAT at 17.5%.

Where to Pay

There’s no advance payment needed; simply turn up, park and pay on departure.

For Rapid Drop Off zone, there is no need to take a ticket on entry, simply pay on departure at the exit barriers.

For all other short stay parking, payment must be made at one of the pay stations located within the Arrivals building (opposite the Information Desk), or in front of the Short Stay Car Park/Taxi Office. The machines accept all major credit and debit cards as well as cash. Receipts are available on request.

As an alternative, within the Short Stay Car Park, take a ticket from the arrival barrier. On departure proceed to the exit barrier, insert your ticket followed by your credit or debit card. Your card will be debited with the correct amount and returned to you with a receipt. Please note if you choose to pay by credit card, you will be charged a £1.50 credit card fee. We do not charge a fee for debit cards.

Exit Procedure
For Rapid Drop Off zone, please pay at the exit barriers.

For all other short stay car parking, you can make a payment at one of the pay stations either within the Arrivals building (opposite the Information Desk) or in front of the short stay car park/taxi office, then return to your car, proceed to the exit barrier and insert your validation ticket.

OR

Proceed to the exit barrier, insert your entry ticket followed by your credit or debit card. Your card will be debited with the correct amount and a receipt issued.

Trailers are not permitted.

Blue Badge Holders
Dedicated parking spaces are available within the Short Stay Car Park to blue badge holders for any duration of stay. To ensure you are charged the appropriate rate for your stay, please take your car park ticket to the car park office opposite the arrivals hall to pay together with your blue badge.

Blue Badge holders are entitled to use the Short Stay Car Park for up to 30 minutes free. The ticket obtained on entry, together with the Blue Badge must be presented at the Car Park Enquiries Office located opposite the Arrivals Hall in order for the ticket to be validated for the free exit. Any time spent in the Short Stay Car Park after the first 30 minutes is chargeable as per the tariffs displayed on entry. The free period does not apply to the Rapid Drop Off Zone.

Should Blue Badge holders wish to use the up to 60 minutes free parking within Long Stay 6 car park, the shuttle buses are all DDA compliant.
