Must see:
Don’t make Castle Hill and its many attractions your first stop. Instead, head for the stunning neogothic facade of the Parliament building, built right on the Danube riverfront. The view from across the river is one of Europe’s best.

For a thoroughly modern take on traditional Hungarian cuisine – with the accent on fine dining - head to Kepiro on the Pest side of the river.

You won’t want to miss the Budapest Spring Festival, the largest cultural event in Hungary, with Chamber music to contemporary dance... and everything in between.

It’s not for nothing that Budapest is known as one of Europe’s rail hubs. You can get a train from here to 16 different countries.
Hop on either Lines 4 or 6 for a trip on one of the world’s longest trams. Painted bright yellow with 6 carriages, they’re easy to spot...
