There are different options for dropping off or picking someone up from East Midlands Airport. We have options at our Short Stay car parks, or a free alternative at our Long Stay car park. You can either pick up or drop off at both locations. We also have a Rapid drop off option for quick drop offs which is ideally located in front of the terminal building.

From Thursday, 1 May 2025, we have introduced a new barrierless system at our Rapid Drop Off zone, designed to make your journey quicker and more convenient.
To make journeys even easier, we recommend that customers create an Autopay account ready for the 1 May 2025 to enable automatic payments each time they use Rapid Drop Off.

Our Rapid Drop Off is most suitable for quick drop offs of loved ones or friends. It is the most convenient option for passengers, with check-in just minutes away.

You can pick up or drop off in the Short Stay 1 & 3 car parks. This is ideal if you want to accompany passengers or head into the terminal to meet someone.

Blue Badge parking is available at Short Stay 1 car park (Free for first 30 minutes), where blue badge parking bays are clearly identifiable. Short Stay 1 can only be accessed by walking to/from the terminal, but should you require a wheelchair or further assistance, help points are located in all car parks.

Long Stay Car Park
Pick up or drop off
We have a free pick up or drop off option at our Long Stay car park. This car park is free for up to 60 minutes. Long Stay 2 is a 15 - 20 minute walk or a short shuttle bus journey from the terminal. Please note that the shuttle service won't operate 1 November - 31 March.
Our free shuttle bus operates 24 hours a day, every day. With shuttle buses every 20 minutes, it’s a quick journey from the car park to the terminal doors. When returning, the Pick Up zone is just outside of arrivals.

Please press for a token at entry, which provides up to 1 hour free parking. Overstay is charged at £1 per minute thereafter and payment at the exit is card only.

Payments cannot be made using cash or cheque. Additionally, payments for Rapid Drop Off areas cannot be made upon exiting, as there are no payment barriers in this area.
If payment is not received by midnight the following day, a £100.00 Parking Charge will be issued, which will be reduced to £60.00 if paid within 14 days.
Payment must be made by midnight the day after you visit to ensure a Parking Charge is not sent to the registered vehicle holder.
Yes, you can set up an account and add a payment card, which will automatically take payment after each journey through Rapid Drop Off. To do this, please visit the payment portal.
Please note it is your responsibility to ensure there is a valid payment method on your account before using Rapid Drop Off.
If you do not pre-register or pay as a guest before midnight the next day, a Parking Charge will be sent to the registered vehicle holder.
No, payment can only be made after you have visited Rapid Drop Off at East Midlands Airport. To avoid a parking charge, payment must be made by midnight the day after your visit. Alternatively, you can create an account and add a payment card to enable automatic payments for each of your journeys. You can create an account by visiting the payment portal.
