We work with local police and Sustrans to make our cycle routes safe. The quickest cycle link starts where Diseworth Lane joins the A453. Sensors on the link warn drivers as you cross the A453.

At the airport, bike racks are found near the entrance to Departures.

Most airlines allow bicycles on flights. However, check with your airline before flying. You can find all the airline contact details here.

Give yourself plenty of time to cycle to and from the airport as there can some congestion from other pedestrians, motorists and cyclists. If you’re delayed on your way to the airport, contact your airline and they may be able to help you reach your flight or make other arrangements.

Sustrans is a UK cycling and walking charity that maintains the Nation Cycle Network, including the cycle paths around East Midlands Airport. They’ve created over 16,575 miles of signed cycle routes across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

While we can’t offer the same range of parking options to motorcyclists as we can to motorists, we still offer a variety of different packages for motorbikes. To find out more, please contact our call centre on 0808 169 7032. Calls are free from landlines and mobiles.

There are toilets throughout the airport, both landside and airside, allowing you to wash and change out of any cycling gear before flying.
