  • Requesting assistance prior to your journey

    If you require any assistance through East Midlands Airport, please ensure you make the necessary arrangements with your airline before you travel. Your airline or travel agent will take all necessary information from you regarding your assistance, and will inform the East Midlands Airport Passenger Services Team 48 hours ahead of your travel.

    If you or someone you are travelling with has a hidden disability, including dementia, we have lanyards that can be used to discreetly identify you to airport staff so they know that you may require additional assistance.

    We recognise that getting through our security process can be a worry for our customers, so we have a designated lane for passengers requiring assistance. Our Security Officers have all received training ensuring they are aware of sensitivities regarding disabilities. We also have a private search area available.
