How does Short Stay parking work?

Say goodbye to stressful planning and parking with these 4 simple steps:

Book in advance: Short Stay 1 and 3 are available for Turn Up & Park. Short Stay 2 is available to pre-book only.
Park up: If your car park has barrierless entry, our Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system will recognise your vehicle and open the barrier.
Walk to the terminal: No need for a shuttle bus. All the Short Stay car parks are in easy walking distance to the terminal.
When you return: Find your vehicle and exit through the automatic barrier.

Where is Short Stay Parking located?

There are two Long Stay car parks at East Midlands Airport, both only a short 3-5 minute journey away from the terminal on our free shuttle bus.

Directions to Short Stay 1

Short Stay 1 postcode: DE74 2SA

Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
Turn right into the airport.
At the roundabout, take your second exit going straight on towards the airport and Short Stay 1.
The entrance to Short Stay 1 will be on your immediate left.

Directions to Short Stay 2

Short Stay 2 postcode: DE74 2SA

Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
Turn right into the airport.
At the roundabout, take your first exit.
At the second roundabout go straight on and take the first right turning into the Short Stay 2 car park.

Directions to Short Stay 3

Short Stay 3 postcode: DE74 2SA

Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
Turn right into the airport.
At the roundabout, take the first exit.
Carry on following the road and at the third roundabout take the first exit (left) and turn left again into the Short Stay 3 car park.

What is the minimum stay in the Short Stay car park?

There is no minimum stay in the Short Stay car parks at East Midlands Airport.

Please note, these stay durations are subject to change due to car park availability.

Can I pre-book my Pick Up/Drop Off parking?

Our Short Stay 1 car park is available for pre-booking. You can pre-book your Pick Up/Drop Off parking up to 1,2 or 3 hours. Find out more about pre-booking your Pick Up and Drop Off parking here.

Are the Short Stay car parks suitable for Blue Badge holders?

Yes. When booking please choose Short Stay 1, where there are clearly identifiable Blue Badge parking bays. There are helpful guides available for those who need more information and advice on the accessibility of our car parks.

Alternatively, pre-book our Meet & Greet product and take advantage of a 20% discount only available to Blue Badge holders. To obtain your 20% discount please call our East Midlands Customer Contact Centre on the following free phone number: 08081 697032 and have your badge number and badge expiry date to hand, in order for the Customer Contact Team to validate your badge.

What happens if I pick my car up late?

Arrivals and departures before or after booked days will incur an additional charge. Please see terms and conditions for further information.

Can I turn up and park at Short Stay?

Yes, Short Stay 1 and Short Stay 3 are available for Turn Up and Park. Short Stay 2 is available to pre-book only.

If your plans aren’t set, you may just want to turn up and choose the car park that’s right for you on the day of travel. However, if you want to guarantee your space then we do recommend that you pre-book, especially during busy periods.

Are trailers allowed in the Short Stay car parks?

Sorry, trailers are not allowed in any official East Midlands Airport car parks.

Are motorcycles allowed in the Short Stay car parks?
