Inspiring Young People

East Midlands Airport Aerozone Education Centre

April 2023 Update

We are not taking bookings at this time.

As part of our commitment to inspire generations of young people, we have an on-site education centre here at East Midlands Airport known as the Aerozone. This centre is free of charge for school and college visits and provides a flexible, interactive and inspirational learning environment for children and young people aged 4 to 18. To Booking is essential.

The Aerozone can be used for a diverse range of activities and can be adapted to suit your teaching needs. From primary schools through to college classes, there are opportunities for groups to immerse themselves in the airport experience and find out what goes on behind the scenes of a busy airport.

Included in the Aerozone is East Minilands, a fun and interactive roleplay space that incorporates the key areas of the passenger journey. The space can be used by all ages for roleplay, or for Travel and Tourism assessments. The space includes a check-in desk, security area, café, shop and cabin, complete with ten aircraft seats. Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our realistic role-play zones and explore a variety of careers on offer in the dynamic world of aviation and beyond.

For more information please view our Aerozone leaflet.

To enhance your visit to the Aerozone, sessions can also be combined with the Aeropark. The Aeropark is a volunteer-run Aviation Museum on the other side of the airport. They can host school groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a small charge. Visits to the Aeropark will need to be booked separately through the Aeropark. View our dedicated Aeropark pages for more information.
