Contact your airline

Contact your airline in advance to see what they offer onboard for children, such as sky cots, baby food, toddler meals and children's entertainment. Ask whether you can reserve seats in advance, so that you can guarantee that you are all flying together as a family. If you can, book a flight that's not likely to be full. You may get an empty seat next to you or even a free row. To avoid accentuating tiredness, try and fly during reasonable daytime hours, so that your children’s daily routine isn’t disrupted too much.

Liquids, medication and baby food

Containers larger than 100ml/100g such as drinks bottles (including water) are NOT permitted, even though they might only contain 100ml/100g. If you need to, you can take small quantities of liquids through security, but only if they are carried in a single, clear, re-sealable plastic bag and each item is placed in a separate container no larger than 100ml/100g. A re-sealable freezer bag – approximately 20cm x 20cm or smaller - is about the right size. Liquid baby food or sterilised water, sufficient for the journey, can be taken through airport security.

Breastfeeding

We have dedicated baby changing rooms with seating for breastfeeding next to the women's bathrooms both before and after security. Please note that we promote feeding across our site and don't restrict where this can take place.
