About Bergerac

Bergerac is a medieval town that sits on the River Dordogne in Aquitaine. Surrounded by glorious green landscapes and vineyards that run for miles, the warm weather of the region allows you to experience the old town charm in the golden sunlight. As you walk down the cobbled streets lined with picturesque half-timbered houses, you’ll find an array of cafes, restaurants and boutiques.

Located in Place Pélissière, the main square of the town, is the statue of the famous literary hero, Cyrano de Bergerac. As well as exploring the notable figures of Bergerac, you can feast your eyes upon the stunning architecture of Château de Monbazillac. Only a few minutes drive south sits the stunning 16th century castle in the Renaissance style. Wherever you find yourself exploring, you’ll feel like you’re experiencing a real-life fairytale.
