It’s easy to see why Edinburgh Airport is one of the largest travel hubs in Scotland with its close ties to the M8, M9 and M90 as well as both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Millions of people pass through the airport every year, which can make it incredibly difficult to find parking. Parking at Edinburgh Airport

While the airport does have several clearly marked drop-off and pick-up points outside of the terminal, prices can be steep for visits that last longer than a couple of minutes. If you want to take a little more time, then you should consider using one of the free drop-off and pick-up areas in the long-stay carparks.

An alternative to traditional short-stay parking, Edinburgh’s medium-stay parking areas are around two-minutes from the terminal doors in a secure multi-storey parking garage. If this suits you, make sure to check that your vehicle will fit beneath the 2.2m ceiling. Those planning to store their car at the airport for longer than 24 hours may wish to consider long-stay parking as it proves much more cost effective.

Long-stay parking at Edinburgh Airport is both a cheap and secure option for any vehicle. There’s a regular five-minute shuttle bus operating throughout the day and night, putting the car parks within easy reach of the terminal. All long-stay car parks are under the constant watch of airport security.

Valet parking is the perfect start to any holiday, it’s quick, easy and offers the VIP experience we all love. All you have to do is pre-book beforehand then drop your keys off with the professional valets on the day and you’re all set. Then when you’re exiting the airport, notify the valets and they’ll have your car waiting for you.

As the airport only has one main terminal, which plays host to over 30 different airlines, you can be sure that wherever you park there will be good travel links to the terminal doors.

Edinburgh Airport is incredibly busy and so are most of the car parks, making it very hard to get the space you want on the day of your flight. The only way to ensure you’ll get the best space at the best price is to pre-book.

  • Arrive early: There are over 300 flights leaving every day at Edinburgh Airport, which means there’s a departure every 5 minutes. With so much footfall, security can take a little longer than at other airports, so make sure you have plenty of time before your flight. The airport recommends arriving at least 2 hours 30 minutes before your departure.

  • Book a lounge: If you want to avoid the bustle of the terminal, consider booking a lounge. Many lounge packages offer fast track tickets to get you through security as well as free Wi-Fi and complimentary food.
