East Midlands Airport in the Community
The Independent Consultative Committee (ICC) is the formal body in charge of liaison between East Midlands Airport and our neighbouring communities.
According to the Liaison Group of UK Airport Consultative Committees, Airport Consultative Committees such as our ICC are a well-established way in which airports can engage with key stakeholders in the local area and beyond. The ICC seeks to hold the precarious balance between the interests of civil aviation, of passengers and other users of the airport, of people living in the area, and of the local environment.
The ICC operates according to government guidelines and has, as members, representatives from local authorities, airport user groups and local interest groups. To enable more frequent dialogue between the ICC and the airport, the Committee meets three times a year, with the final meeting of the year being a General ICC meeting. There are two sub-committees known as Monitoring, Environment, Noise and Track (MENT) and Transport, Economic Development and Passenger Service (TEP). Each of these sub-committees meets three times each year.
If you have a question or an item that you’d like to see addressed on the ICC agenda, you can contact your local representative on the ICC. You can find the current list of ICC Members here.
Members of the public can also as a question directly, by emailing the ICC Secretariat at: ICC.Secretariat@eastmidlandsairport.com
In order to be addressed at the meeting, your question will need to be received at least 14 days before the date of the next ICC General meeting. You can find the dates of all ICC meetings for 2024, 2025 and 2026 here. Your question and its answer will then be included in the minute of that meeting, which are published on this page below.
You can find the EMA Independent Consultative Committee Constitution here.
