East Midlands Airport Consultative Committee (EMACC)

EMACC is the formal body in charge of liaison between East Midlands Airport and our neighbouring communities.

According to the Liaison Group of UK Airport Consultative Committees, Airport Consultative Committees such as EMACC are a well-established way in which airports can engage with key stakeholders in the local area and beyond. EMACC seeks to hold the precarious balance between the interests of civil aviation, of passengers and other users of the airport, of people living in the area, and of the local environment.

EMACC operates according to government guidelines and has, as members, representatives from local authorities, airport user groups and local interest groups. To enable more frequent dialogue between EMACC and the airport, the Committee meets three times a year, with the final meeting of the year being a General EMACC meeting.

There are two sub-committees known as Monitoring, Environment, Noise and Track (MENT) and Transport, Economic Development and Passenger Service (TEP). Each of these sub-committees meets three times each year.

Get Involved with EMACC

There are several ways to engage with the East Midlands Airport Consultative Committee (EMACC):

Contact Your Local Representative: If you have a question for the EMACC General Meeting or a topic you'd like to see on the agenda, reach out to your local EMACC representative. The current list of members can be found below.
Ask a Question Directly: Email your question to EMACC at ICC.Secretariat@eastmidlandsairport.com at least two weeks before the next meeting. Your question and the answer will be included in the meeting minutes, published on this page below.
Request to Attend a Meeting: We are running a pilot where members of the public can request permission to attend an EMACC General Meeting in person. Email your request to ICC.Secretariat@eastmidlandsairport.com at least two weeks in advance. Please note that space is limited, attendance is by invitation only at the Chair's discretion, and attendees may only observe, not participate in discussions.
